Rhino has just shared details of a new vinyl box set that collects Rush’s first four studio albums with Atlantic Records, stretching from 1989 through 1996. The 6-LP set is simply titled THE ALBUMS: 1989-1996, and it includes Presto (1989), Roll the Bones (1991), Counterparts (1993), and Test for Echo (1996). The set is limited to 3,000 copies, and it is available on Rhino’s website beginning on Friday (November 1st). According to the description of the box set, “Each album includes a print of reimagined cover artwork and is housed in a slipcase featuring new artwork by award-winning artist Hugh Syme, who has created all of Rush’s album cover art since 1975.” Following the death of Rush drummer Neil Peart in 2020, surviving members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson continue to play music together, though the duo have only performed live with each other on rare occasions, including a performance at a Gordon Lightfoot tribute gig earlier this year.
